Beyond designing new products and working with our State Associations, club, and
college partners, we believe that supporting youth begins at the community level,
wherever that community may be. Mazamba is committed to working with organizations
that can bring soccer into the lives of youth and help further their overall academic and
athletic abilities. Our commitment to youth soccer may have begun here in the U.S., but
today it extends around the world through growing relationships with several
international projects. We currently partner with the following organizations:
Charities
Zone-B
Project Namuwongo Zone B (PNZB) is a sustainable development and rapid needs
relief program, created in 2003. It is based in Washington, DC with staff in Kampala,
Uganda. PNZB’s goal is to work with a team of international colleagues to provide
desperately needed education, medication, and nutrition, as well as a sustainable
social support system for the population living in sector Zone B of Namuwongo, Uganda.
Mazamba is honored to be a partner, in our own small way, in this amazing
project. We donated uniforms to players in the Namuwongo Youth Football League and
the Gulu District National Soccer Team (based in Northern Uganda). Most of these children
never had more than worn out pants or shirts to play in, but now they have coordinated
uniforms. Many of these children returned or escaped abduction from the 18-year conflict
in Northern Uganda, and now participate in rehabilitation programs in Gulu Town.
One of the young players said, “We feel so happy. We have never had a jersey before,
everyone has forgotten about us. Now, we know they haven’t. People do care.”
That simple expression of gratitude fuels our commitment to work with organizations
that bring this special game, at so many different levels, to children and adults around the world.
Leukemia/Lymphoma Society
Mazamba has partnered with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for
their “Soccer Kicks for Cancer” program and “Honored Hero” program.
We are offering our North Texas State Select Lone Star jersey at a great low price, and are
donating a portion of the sales proceeds to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Limited quantities of the North Texas Flag jersey are still available at our online store:

Grassroot Soccer, founded by Ethan Zohn winner of Reality Series Survivor Africa,
raises funds through their Kick Aids program to help educate people in Africa regarding
AIDS prevention in Africa through soccer.
